From the written family history

Peter’s biography records Annie’s birth in Milwaukee on May 20, 1891, and says her names honored her aunts. She grew up with Milly and their brother George Karl, first in Wisconsin and then in Colorado. Peter remembered both daughters helping Ida operate a hotel in Boulder before an illness interrupted that work.

Annie and Harry Otto Schmidt raised daughters Valetta and Dorothy. Peter and Ida visited their household in Pueblo and their cabin in Beulah, Colorado, in 1935. The family records give Annie’s death as March 11, 1945, in Halstead, Kansas.

Peter’s biography and the descendants’ chart agree on May 20; the 2010 compilation gives a different birthday elsewhere.

Follow recorded birthplaces and homes through the years. Numbers connect the map to dated records; gold marks a birthplace. Markers show approximate towns or regions, not exact houses. A recorded year does not establish an uninterrupted stay.
