## Letter 11 — Pleasant Hill, Iowa, December 25, 1863 Two historical translation pages belong to this letter. The third image, “Letter 11 Translation 3.jpg,” is a duplicate of the translation of Letter 12. It has been excluded from the 1863 letter's contents; the source file is left untouched. **Agreement:** J. B. Lancamp/Laucamp writes to Christoph Sawall. Farming, political hostility, horses, 38 pigs, 1,200 bushels of corn and an anticipated January office broadly agree. This is not a Hilpert brother's reply to David. **Disagreement:** The historical English interest/principal instruction is ambiguous and can be read as requesting MORE interest. The prior manuscript reading says NO more interest and no further principal to Tripp. Do not reverse that instruction on the strength of the historical English alone. Exact surname spellings and the identity/gender in the Kelly/Relz acquaintance passage remain uncertain. The office is not securely identified. Reviewed September 24, 2026. See the consolidated historical translation comparison and revised connected narrative in Research. Original source files are unchanged.
